The company dancers are back refreshing the show with Bawren Tavaziva, accompanied by by new dancer Kieran Page (who we will introduce to you properly next week).

Another fantastic review from blogger A Dancer’s Perspective on taking part in Tavaziva’s residency with Dance Republic 2‘s Propella group in the autumn, who created a very powerful piece called Young Warriors. The performance was presented as a curtain raiser for Izindava at AMATA in Falmouth. On tour this spring, former Tavaziva dancer Anna Watkins presents OATH. Three contemporary dance works, which include a short dance film in collaboration with Film Oxford.

Bawren is currently collaborating with Euton Daley’s Unlock the Chains Collective who are in rehearsals for the new production #Ending the Silence, also featuring Tavaziva company dancer Luke Crook. The show is at the Old Fire Station, Oxford from 22 to 24 February.
Celebrating 70 years since the MV Empire Windrush landed at Tilbury Docks in 1948, the show contributes to the Black Lives Matter movement and takes a journey through the Black experience. Click here for more information and how to book.

Tavaziva is seeking 2 Tour Technicians to join the company for the touring of Bawren Tavaziva’s new production BOY’S KHAYA starting in September.
Tavaziva is an acclaimed contemporary-African touring dance company established in 2004 and led by Zimbabwean-born Bawren Tavaziva. His unique style is a choreographic synthesis of ballet, contemporary and African dance.
We are looking for 1 Touring Re-lighter & Stage Manager, who will work with the Artistic Director and Production Manager team to run the sound, LX rigging, re-lighting of all shows to the design specified by the Lighting designer, install and de-install the equipment, mange the get-in, fit-up and get-out for the touring performances.
We are looking for 1 Touring Video Technician, who will work with the Artistic Director and Production Manager team to run the video equipment, motion capture for all shows to the design specified by the Video designer, install and de-install the equipment, mange the get-in, fit-up and get-out for the touring performances. Ideal basic knowledge in Notch, Hippo and/or Noitom Systems, training can be provided.
Applicants must be able to drive (transport video/Lx and stage equipment only).
Pre-Production and Touring: 15 September to 19 November 2021 (approx. 8 performance dates across the tour). Please note all dates are yet to be confirmed.

Tavaziva is seeking a male dancer to join the company for the creation and touring of Bawren Tavaziva’s new production BOY’S KHAYA starting in July.
Due to COVID restrictions we will be holding auditions digitally via video submissions. Shortlisted dancers will be provided a sample of Bawren’s choreography, which they will then submit a self-recorded performance of the phrase. Further details will be provided upon shortlisting.
We are looking for 1 male dancer with at least three years of professional dance training experience and strong ballet and contemporary techniques.
Creation/ rehearsals: July to September 2021
Touring and workshops: September to November 2021 (approx. 8 performance dates across the tour)
