Greed 2013
Greed; an excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves. Like lust and gluttony, greed is a sin of excess, yet applied to a rapacious desire and pursuit of material possessions. Greed, created in 2013, explores the etymology of the word and deals with the complexities of money, power and religion and explores the subtle, and not so subtle, differences between African and western cultures.
Tavaziva is a choreographer who doesn’t waste a sound. Dancers move seamlessly from deep pliés into dynamic jumps with gymnastic extensions and then fast spins almost as soon as their feet find the floor again. This tribe may be small in number but they are also athletes chosen from a supreme Olympian elite.
