ZIVA Youth was primarily for young men aged 14 to 19, but later encouraged young women to participate too. The project was generously supported by The Monument Trust, making it a free project to attend.
Workshops, classes, projects and performance opportunities took place in various locations in North London and provided specific training in our signature mix of Ballet, Contemporary, and African.
Participants worked with our professional team of Tavaziva performers as well as guest artists and our Artistic Director, Bawren Tavaziva.
ZIVA Youth performed at Lift Off Dance Festival in Southhill Park, Bracknell and in front of 3,000 fans at Leyton Orient Football Stadium. The company had also previously performed at The Place, Lilian Baylis Studio (Sadler’s Wells), Trinity Laban, and Haringey Arts Festival.
Members of ZIVA Youth have gone on to further their dance careers at established dance conservatoires and universities all over the UK.
